Rick Parashar obit

RICK PARASHAR, who came into prominence as a producer during the dawn of the ’90s grunge era, passed away last Thursday (8/14). He was 50. Northwest Music Scene reports that Parashar died of natural causes stemming from a pulmonary embolism during which a blood clot moved from his leg to his heart. Working primarily at London Bridge Studio, which he founded with his brother Raj, Parashar produced Pearl Jam’s seminal debut disc Ten, Temple of the Dog’s self-titled album, Alice in ChainsSap EP and Blind Melon’s self-titled LP. In the 2000s, he helmed such noteworthy recordings as Nickelback’s massive Silver Side Up and 3 Doors Down’s Away From the Sun. (8/18a)
