BOW REGARD: Presenting yet another superhero rendering (by our own Van Arno) from the recently published HITS 28th Anniversary Issue, which landed with a resounding thud in industry offices recently. This morning's comic-book star is Glassnote chieftain Daniel Glass, who is currently celebrating the instant success of the brand-new EP by hip-hop iconoclast Childish Gambino. The seven-song set Kauai shot to the top of the iTunes album chart this weekend; proceeds from its sale will go toward keeping the beaches of the titular Hawaiian isle clean, among other worthy causes (and it boasts a new "Beach Picnic Version" of his breakout hit, "V. 3005"). Gambino's explosive ACL Fest performance this weekend, meanwhile, earned raves; the Austin 360.com blog declared after the set, "He just might be the most important hip hop artist coming up in the game."
