WEEK IN PREVIEW

If you thought last week was a fluke, think again. It is THE dominant album in the marketplace, and it could remain that way for a while to come.

Preliminary reports (that's a purdy way of saying we talk to stores) indicate that MCA's Shaggy will remain atop the HITS Top 50 Albums chart when all is completed on Tuesday.

The project continues to soar behind not one, but TWO smash singles, "It Wasn't Me" and "Angel." Incidentally, MTV finally received the video to "Angel" and immediately threw it into heavy rotation.

While Hollywood's "Save The Last Dance" appears to have #2 locked up again this week, there are some other movers and shakers that deserve a momentary refrain from your attention deficit disorder. Check out Island/Def Jam, with both Ja Rule and Ludacris holding solid in the Top 10 as those nutty reports come flying in. Could they both end up in the Top Five?

And how about the exploding Crazy Town? Columbia's multi-pierced tattooed love boys appear to be a lock to crack the Top 10. Is the Top Five out of the question for this week?

All these mindblowing questions, plus that whole Napster thing AND a bunch of music executives' names in boldface!!!! Yeeeeeehaaaaaaa!!! Whatta week! It doesn't get any better than this, kiddies.
