DISNEY BACK IN AOL-TW GAME

FCC Opens The Door For Disney To View Confidential Merger Documents
Walt Disney—the company, not the frozen animator—and its lawyers will once again be allowed to look at confidential documents related to the merger of America Online and Time Warner, the FCC said Wednesday (11/22).

The FCC, in lifting its ban, said it was reassured by measures Disney offered to protect against future violations of confidentiality orders, after a breach that occurred earlier this year.

Disney has been one of the most vocal opponents of the proposed deal between AOL and TW.

Last month the commission cut off Disney's access to non-public merger documents, after an incident in which an associate attorney in the company's firm sent an e-mail containing a description of confidential material to in-house counsels who were not covered by confidentiality agreements (hitsdailydouble.com, 10/3).
