The examiner, David Kirshblum, told Jagger's lawyers to provide him with a net worth statement by Aug. 1, when he will question Jagger, 56, by telephone from England about his finances. The boy's mother is seeking $35,000 a month in child support.
Jagger's lawyer, John Vassallo, said he would appeal the ruling. He said Kirshblum's order is unnecessary because the Rolling Stones rocker says he can pay any legal and reasonable child support amount the court orders.
"Why should the entire world know what he is worth in order (for the court) to fix support for a 1-year-old?'' Vassallo said after the all-day hearing adjourned. "If we tell how much he has, don't you think the mothers of his other 156 children would want a piece as well?"
