SANTANA REACHES OUT TO SPANISH, PORTUGUESE WEB USERS
Partnership With StarMedia To Provide Broadband Concert Webcasts, Chat Sessions
Grammy-winning musician Carlos Santana has teamed up with an Internet company to broadcast live concerts and chat sessions targeting Spanish and Portuguese audiences.
StarMedia Network Inc. will sponsor Santana's Supernatural tour this summer. StarMedia Broadband will provide Webcasts of Santana's shows.
"Carlos Santana is the hottest, most respected Latin artist today,'' said Fernando Espuelas, Chairman and CEO, StarMedia. "Not ‘hottest' as in sexiest. Of course, everyone knows that Marc Anthony has the hottest Latin bootay."
Santana said the Internet deal gives him a chance to "touch the lives of so many people in a borderless community of Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking people throughout the world."
