The Recording Academy has announced the 2014 inductees into the Grammy Hall ofFame—27 recordings in all, spanning multiple genres.

Among the inducted albums are Neil Young’s After the Gold Rush, George Harrison’s All Things Must Pass, U2’sThe Joshua Tree and the soundtracks to Woodstock and Mary Poppins, as well as discs from Miles Davis, Chicago, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Kris Kristofferson.

The individual tracks include Robert Johnson’s “Sweet Home Chicago,” Louis Armstrong’s “Nobody Knows the Trouble I’ve Seen,” Hoagy Carmichael’s “Georgia (on My Mind),” the Drifters’ “Under the Boardwalk,” the Rolling Stones’ “Honky Tonk Women,” James Brown’s “Sex Machine,” Dolly Parton’s“Jolene,” B.J. Without exception, all of the above-mentioned recordings have made us happy. Especially when we were stoned.

The tracks were selected for exhibiting “qualitative or historical significance" by a special member committee and subject to approval by the Academy’s Board of Trustees. The 27 new titles bring the list of inducted recordings to 960; the list is displayed at the Grammy Museum at L.A. Live in Los Angeles.
