Mumford & Sons Grab a Second Week at #1; Muse, Miguel, Diana Krall, Three Days Grace, Jackie Evancho and Cher Lloyd Debut Top 10
Just call it Mumford & Sons: the Sequel.

The Glassnote Records pastoral folk-rockers log a second week at #1 with Babel picking up another 157k sales for a total of 757k, as they bust into the 2012 Top 10.

Warner Bros. U.K. band Muse’s 2nd Law is the week’s top debut, landing at #2 with a total of 100k, one of six newcomers to the Top 10.

RCA R&B/rock/funk/hip-hop hybrid Miguel’s sophomore album, Kaleidoscope Dream, bows at #3, scoring 69k, following two EPs, and including the chart-topping R&B/hip-hop single, “Adom,” which has grabbed more than 10 million views on YouTube.

Labelmate P!nk’s The Truth About Love is the only other holdover in the Top 5 at #4, followed by debuts from Verve’s Diana Krall (#5),. RCA’s Three Days Grace (#6) and a pair of Simon Cowell discoveries in Syco./Columbia’s Jackie Evancho (#7) and Syco/Epic’s Cher Lloyd (#8).

Capitol Nashville/EMI’s Little Big Town (#9) and Reprise’s Green Day (#10) round out the leader board.

Other Top 50 newcomers include Blue Note/EMI’s Van Morrison (#11), Eleven Seven’s Papa Roach (#20), eOne’s DJ Drama (#21), Legacy’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees Heart (#25), Atlantic’s Cody Simpson (#26), Interscope’s Zedd (#38), eOne’s Faith Evans (#42) and Capitol/EMI’s Tristan Prettyman.

Biggest gainer this week is UMe’s Pitch Perfect soundtrack (#42-15, +151%), a beneficiary of the surprise hit film about college a cappella singing group competitions going wide.

Other double-digit boosts include XL/Columbia’s long-running Adele album 21 (#14-13, +11%), New Elektra’s Ed Sheeran (#50-45, +37%) and Columbia’s Train (#46, +12%).

This week’s releases include UMe’s KISS, Bad Boy/Interscope’s MGK (Machine Gun Kelly), ADA Seattle hip-hop duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (#1 at iTunes), Columbia’s Barbra Streisand and Epic’s The Script. Next Tuesday (10/16) comes Broken Bow/RED’s Jason Aldean.
