GREAT SCOT!

Finck Climbs to Higher Perch at Mouse House

Scot Finck has been upped to the position of Senior Vice President of Promotion for the Disney Music Group, DMG EVP Ken Bunt announced this morning. In his new post, Finck oversees the creation, development and execution of DMG affiliated artists’ radio campaigns, including terrestrial, satellite and digital radio services. He remains based out of DMG headquarters in Burbank.

Said Bunt: “I am thrilled that we were able to find the ideal candidate for this very important job within our own organization. I have no doubt that Scot’s passion and leadership, combined with our incredible promotion staff, will only deepen our successful partnership with radio.”

Finck commented: “What means the most to me is getting to continue to contribute to this team I love. They are big-hearted, never-quit professionals deeply driven by the love of artists and music. Along with format favorites, Tony Smith, Nick Bedding and Buddy Deal, and our amazing field staff, we can’t wait to break Stefano, Bridgit Mendler, Redlight King and ZZ Ward, as well as deliver new hits from Demi, Selena and Plain White T's. My deepest thanks to Ken Bunt for this opportunity, as he leads Hollywood Records and the Disney Music Group into its next exciting chapter. Thanks also to Justin Fontaine, who built up this great department and leaves an enduring legacy.”

A 15-year veteran with the company, Finck previously served as VP Promotion for Hollywood Records. The Rhode Island native got his start as a DJ at WRIU, the college station at his alma mater, the University of Rhode Island, where he majored in journalism. He served as press director for the indie label Northstar Records before making the move to radio promotion with Cypress Records. When that label merged with A&M in 1988, Finck went along for the ride, which lasted for 10 years. He joined Hollywood Records in 1998 as VP Pop Promotion.
