ARISTA NASHVILLE'S LANCO MAKES A BIG SCREEN DEBUT IN TIMES SQUARE
6/30/16

Members of LANco, from left, Eric Steedly, Brandon Lancaster, Jared Hampton, Tripp Howell, and Chandler Baldwin, smile despite not getting tickets to Hamilton.

Arista Nashville’s LANco celebrated the world premiere Tuesday of its debut music video “Long Live Tonight” on the Sony Digital Billboard in New York’s Times Square. Fortunately, the fact that it’s a featured video on our site was not held against them.

“Times Square is something you see in the movies or maybe get to visit in your life, but you never dream that one day your face will be on one of those giant screens,” LANco lead singer Brandon Lancaster said while Mickey Mouse, Elmo and three desnudas bugged him for a photograph.

Shazam invited fans to utilize Visual Shazam for a chance to win a performance by the band. The event was the first large-screen digital activation of Shazam on a billboard.

“More artists like LANco are harnessing the power of Visual Shazam, which has become a music industry standard for connecting artists with their first fans,” Shazam CEO Rich Riley said. “The fact that it was implemented in Times Square, reaching nearly half a million people on a given day, speaks to the potential scale and engagement of Shazam’s visual technology.”
