The CountU2 Gobbles Up Netflix NFL Halftime Gig

U2 is taking its 50th anniversary celebration to the 50-yard line.
The Irish quartet will headline the halftime show of the NFL’s inaugural Thanksgiving Eve game on Netflix, between the Green Bay Packers and the Los Angeles Rams Nov. 25 at SoFi Stadium.
The booking falls nearly 25 years after Bono and company delivered an emotionally charged, post-9/11 halftime performance at Super Bowl XXXVI, in February 2002.
Said Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos, “There's a reason U2 has headlined stadiums for decades—they don't just perform; they deliver iconic moments audiences remember forever.”
U2 follows Beyoncé, whose “Beyoncé Bowl” powered Netflix’s 2024 Christmas Day NFL coverage, and Snoop Dogg, who presided over “Snoop’s Holiday Halftime Party” in 2025. Jesse Collins Entertainment will produce the U2 show.
U2 has plenty of other stadium business on its 2027 agenda, having just announced the first six shows of what’s expected to be an extensive return to the road. The band is touring in support of its first album in nine years, Carnaval de Luz (Interscope), out Nov. 13.
We just learned that our bosses are making us work Thanksgiving Eve Day, mainly because it’s not a real thing.
