CRAIG MARKS JOINS HITS, THROWS STELLAR CAREER OUT WINDOW

Illustrious Former Music Editor for L.A. Times, Book Author Opts for Role at Sleazy Music Trade for No Discernible Reason

Craig Marks has made the career-ending decision to join HITS in the role of executive editor at large.

Once a celebrated music journalist and author, Craig has decided to throw his reputation onto the trash heap of history and degrade himself utterly by creating content for our disreputable magazine and sleazy website. Why would he do this? We suspect it’s the result of some kind of temporary mental episode—perhaps caused by a food allergy—but we’re not complaining.

A former music editor for the Los Angeles Times, Craig has also served as a top editor at SPIN, Blender and Billboard and co-authored the book I Want My MTV: The Uncensored Story of the Music Video Revolution. But now he gets to read emails from Todd Hensley and be coached on the fine art of “filling the white space between ads” by a junior editor who learned English from Instagram. So that’ll be fun for him.

“Who is Craig Marks and why am I paying him?” asked HITS Editor in Chief Lenny Beer from the 11th hole at Laguna.

Publisher Dennis Lavinthal was on vacation and unavailable for comment.
