SEDAKA JOINS THE WAVE

After a night of Mr Chow’s chicken satay and more than a few verses of “Love Will Keep Us Together” are, from left,
Agnes Kacicki, Marc Sedaka, Adam Lowenberg, Neil Sedaka, Madeline Boyd, Larry Mestel, Marty Silverstone and Bill Cisneros.

Neil Sedaka is partnering with Primary Wave Music on his music publishing and recording rights for all his recordings. Terms of the partnership may also see Primary Wave participating in branding rights over Sedaka’s name and likeness.

His biggest songs from his early days—“Oh! Carol,” “Calendar Girl,” “Happy Birthday, Sweet Sixteen,” “Breaking Up Is Hard To Do”—are included in the deal as are songs he wrote for Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, The Monkees and The Captain & Tennille.

“As both a singer and songwriter, Neil has created an iconic catalog that has transcended decades and genres,” said Madeline Boyd, Primary Wave’s Finance & Investments manager. “We look forward to continue creating new opportunities for his timeless songs together.”

The Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee said he has long admired Primary Wave “for their unwavering commitment and dedication to the artists they represent.

“After almost 70 years in the music business, I’ve gotten pretty good at separating the big talkers from the real deals, and Larry and his team at Primary Wave are about as real deal as it gets. I look forward to a long and prosperous relationship that will allow me to work side by side with this amazing organization and finally give my extensive collection of songs the attention and exposure it deserves.”

After the signing, the crew went looking for some rain to laugh in.
