SWEET MEMORIES

With this vintage shot, we set the wayback machine for 1991, when Matthew Sweet was on Zoo Entertainment, and our own Karen Glauber and future HITS loser Bud Scoppa (the latter having inked Matthew to the label) were secure in the knowledge that power pop would ever reign supreme. Seen just before faxing in their lunch order and paying a visit to the product closet are (back, l-r) manager Russell Carter, Zoo’s Jayne Simon Neches (RIP), Big Star’s Jody Stephens, Sweet, Glauber, musician Richard Lloyd, Zoo’s George Gerrity and Scott Byron; and (front, l-r) Scoppa, musicians Drew Vogelman and Chris Harford and Zoo’s Lou Maglia (RIP).
