COMPTON CRASHES THE DEBATE

You know the old legend about how if you played The Wizard of Oz with the sound muted and put on Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon at the same time (and sparked a joint), the two would sync up to form a kind of trippy counter-narrative? Well, with Dr. Dre’s Compton: A Soundtrack becoming available for streaming on Apple Music right around the time of the first GOP debate of the 2016 presidential campaign, we’re ready to try an experiment of our own.

We’ll have Trump and the other candidates on our TV with the volume down, and Dre’s long-awaited hip-hop ST blasting. With any luck, the various guest rappers will sync up with different Republicans (come on, Snoop Dogg/Marco Rubio). It might be the only way for some truth to come out of those mouths.

In any case, make sure you're well-stocked with weed for tonight's proceedings.
