LITTLE BIG TOWN CRUSHES IT

Among the biggest moments at Sunday night's ACMs was the performance of controversial hit "Girl Crush" by Capitol Nashville's Little Big Town. The Vocal Group of the Year winners' performance clearly resonated with the studio and home audiences as well as consumers; the latter caused the band's album to surge 330% at iTunes, while the single increased 188% and jumped to #2 on the overall singles chart. It was also the show's most Shazamed moment.

The song's Sapphic overtones caused complaints from some in the traditional-values crowd and even an outright boycott from a station in Boise (see our earlier story about it here). But label chief Mike Dungan and manager Jason Owen of Sandbox were unrelenting in their support, and the tune appears to be blossoming bigtime. Check out the ACM performance below.
